Greater Austin CARES is a collaboration of faith-based dementia respite programs in Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Burnet and surrounding communities.

Each respite program:

• Is a ministry of its host organization;
• Serves memory-impaired individuals by providing socially enriching activities, and serves caregivers by offering a break from caregiving responsibilities.
• Is free of charge. Program expenses are covered by in-kind contributions from host organizations, grant monies, and donations from area businesses and individuals.
• Is open to all persons without regard to race, religious affiliation, sex, nationality, or place of residence.

Together the partners in Greater Austin CARES strengthen the work of each program by:

• Meeting regularly and discussing matters of common interest;
• Collaborating in seeking grant monies, and
• Hosting community events for volunteers and caregivers.
